Animated GIFs by Year 5W: The boys and girls in Year 5 have been looking at developing their ICT skills using a program called 2animate. They created simple pictures and sequenced them together to form quick digital animations. In under an hour the boys and girls learnt how to use the program and put together some simple animations. Maybe, we have a budding Tex Avery or Walt Disney?

Faye and Hannah: The Queen Returns to eat Chocolate

Ciara: The Growth and Death of a Flower

Hannah: The Blue Ball Machine

Will: The sinking of the Titanic

Matthew: Homer sleeping

Newsletter(s): March 2 & 3 PDF Print E-mail

Dear Parents,

Oh dear, it was sad to see the heavy rain this morning, as Key Stage One children arrived before their trip to Hartlepool Quay. It didn’t dampen their spirits as they were leaving. Hopefully they had a wonderful day!

Please find an order form with your newsletter. Summer uniforms may be worn after Easter. Please could I remind you that school shoes must be black. If you want your child to wear white sandals with summer dresses that is fine, but ensure they do not have heels, and support their feet. If shoes are unsuitable, we will not be able to allow them on some of our play equipment such as the activity zone.

God bless,

Mrs Johnson

Dear Parents,

We are feeling very sad about the news of St Peter’s College closure—the adjudicator did not uphold the appeal. Staff and pupils are in our prayers. You can read the judgement details on http://www.schoolsadjudicator.gov.uk/decision.cfm

We will now work hard towards the best transition possible for our Catholic pupils to attend the Sacred Heart school in Redcar, in the future.

On a different note, we are very proud of our eight talented children who worked with the Young Americans to produce an amazing and spectacular show on Wednesday Evening. Well done Sasha, Will, Harry, Tegan, Leah, Ebony and Emily!

God bless,

Mrs Johnson

The Stringray Poem in ICT: Using Digital Sounds with Text and Images PDF Print E-mail
Written by Mr Joyeux
Thursday, 11 March 2010 19:03

This week in ICT Mr Joyeux has been working with Year 1J to produce a short animated story book of a poem from the Commotion in the Ocean book. The children learnt how to add sound recordings to a story book with text and pictures and then play them back.

Some of the boys and girls produced some excellent work and we'd like to show you some of their work. The children used 2create a story to draw images accompanied by text and record their own sound!

To watch this content you will need the Adobe Flash Player which you can download here.

To return back to this page please use the back button in your browser.

The Poem is called "The Stingray". Please click on one of the names to view the animation!

Dear Parents,

Hasn’t it been lovely to see sunshine and blue skies this week? It’s quite uplifting.

Speaking of ‘uplifting’. Our Holy Communion mass last Sunday was certainly that! Well done to all who participated.

This week saw the launch of our film club. Our first session met with some ‘technical difficulties’ which delayed the end. Thank you for your patience!

God bless,

Mrs Johnson
